Wednesday: 14 Iraqis Killed, 32 Wounded

At least 14 Iraqis were killed and 32 more were wounded in the latest attacks. Meanwhile, officials have denied news reports of a security wall being erected around Baghdad, and protests continue in Kurdistan, where a journalist was killed recently.

Six people were killed and at least 19 others were wounded when a pair of coordinated bombs exploded outside a restaurant in Mussayab.

Clashes in Balad Ruz left five al-Qaeda suspects dead and seven security personnel wounded. Two more suspects were arrested.

In Baghdad, a bomb wounded five people yesterday. Also, the Foreign Ministry building re-opened nine months after a bomb attack that took place last August.

In Mosul, two soldiers were shot dead at separate checkpoints. A bomb wounded another soldier. Security raids were conducted across the city, but no one was arrested. A cache of thermal bombs was discovered.

A bomb in Fallujah yesterday left one policeman dead.

No casualties were reported after an exchange of gunfire at the Basra headquarters of the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council.

Five mortar shells struck Camp Anaconda in Yathrib, but no casualties were reported.

A car bomb was defused north of Kut.

A Sahwa leader was released from custody after Diyala police could not find enough evidence against him. Sixteen other men were released for lack of evidence as well, and another 13 suspects posted bail. Seventeen wanted suspects were arrested. An explosive belt was found.
