Mortars Rain on Anbar; 61 Killed in Iraq

The Iraq government denied that any of its planes had been shot down by Islamic State militants.

At least 61 were killed and 41 were wounded:

Five security personnel were killed in a mortar attack in Mazra’a; at least four were also wounded.

Mortars killed a soldier and a policeman in Amiriyat al-Falluja. At least two more people were killed and 12 more were wounded.

In Falluja, mortar fire killed two people and wounded seven more.

A bomb at a market in Tuz Khormato wounded four people.

Two people were burned when their house was set on fire by gunmen in Samawa.

Twenty militants were killed in Baiji.

Airstrikes killed five militants and wounded 12 more in Saqlawiya.

At least 23 militants were killed in Garma.

In Haji Hussein, two militants were killed.
