Iranian Revolutionary Guard Among 206 Killed in Iraq

An Iranian soldier was among the 206 killed in the latest violence. Another 65 were wounded. Meanwhile, US envoy Gen. John Allen arrived in Arbil to discuss with Peshmerga leaders the upcoming assault on Mosul.

Dozens of people were executed in Shirqat, including a member of the provincial council.

An Iranian Revolutionary Guards member was killed on Sunday while fighting militants in Samarra. Many Iraqis view Iran as the greater supporter in the war against Islamic State militants, compared to the United States. Part of their support has been to send military advisors to Iraq; however, they claim that no soldiers are involved in actual battles.

Twelve people were killed and 18 were wounded when a suicide bomber drove into a group of Shi’ite militiamen and Iraqi soldiers in Abasiyat.

Iraqi military shelling in Falluja killed 11 civilians and wounded seven more.

Two people were killed and four were wounded when mortars struck Amiriyat al-Falluja.

Mortar fire in Muqdadiya left two civilians dead and eight wounded.

Militants executed a former air force pilot and his adult son in Mosul. An airstrike killed six militants. Two army officers were executed.

Two people were killed and eight were wounded during a mortar attack on Muqdadiya.

In Baghdad, a body was found in the Kamaliya area. Another body was found in Shabb.

Militants arrested 33 security members in Qayara.

The number of militants killed in Gwer was adjusted higher by 40 deaths to at least 100 killed during fighting. Sixteen militants were executed in Mosul for abandoning the fight.

In Sinjar, one militant was killed. A militant was killed and another was wounded in separate fighting. Two militants were killed and two more were wounded in fighting the Suka Jer area, while an airstrike killed another and wounded one more. In separate battles, another seven militants were killed and nine were wounded. Also, security forces killed a militant who was believed to have beheaded several Syrian soldiers.

Twenty-five militants were killed in Makhmour, probably during fighting in Sultan Abdullah.

Fighting in al-Alnoran left 20 militants dead.

Eighteen militants were killed and seven were wounded during operations in Nibaie.

In Baiji, 12 militants were killed.

Peshmerga forces killed six militants in Zumer.
