Eight Killed across Iraq, Including Two Abu Ghraib escapees

The prayer day provided a respite from the current surge in violence. Overall, at least eight people were killed and three more were wounded. One of the casualties was a Sudanese man.

Two prisoners were killed during a raid on Badush prison near Mosul. The prisoners are said to have died of heart attacks due to the surprise raid. One of them was Sudanese.

A blast in Horan Valley killed one soldier and wounded another.

In Qayara, gunmen killed a policeman who was performing his evening prayers.

Gunmen killed a policeman in Syad Ghraib.

Security forces in Kanaan were able to kill a suicide bomber before he could attack a funeral.

The bodies of two gunmen who had escaped Abu Ghraib prison during a large jailbreak recently were found nearby in al-Gharbawiyeen.

Rockets fired into a Shirqat checkpoint wounded two policemen.
