18 Killed, 37 in Fresh Iraq Attacks

At least 18 Iraqis were killed and 37 more were killed in attacks focused mostly near Baghdad.

A suicide car bomber struck at a police checkpoint near a Balad Ruz market where he killed seven people and wounded 22 more.

In Abu Ghraib, a sticky bomb planted on a bus killed three people and wounded three more as the vehicle left the station. One police officer was killed and two others were wounded when a roadside bomb exploded.

A roadside bomb killed two policemen and wounded another in Tal Afar.

In Mosul, gunmen killed a policemen working for the Electricity Protection Force. Gunmen killed a policeman at his home. Gunmen killed a soldier at his home.

Gunmen killed one policeman and wounded three more in Badush.

Gunmen killed a former army officer in Kirkuk.

Five people were wounded in a blast in Madaen.

An I.E.D. in Zaidan wounded a civilian.

Gunmen attacked a checkpoint in Jurf-al-Sakhar but no casualties were reported.
