At least one Iraqi was killed and seven more were wounded in light, prayer day violence. Meanwhile, Paul Bremer, the diplomat who governed Iraq’s Coalition Provisional Authority after the fall of the Saddam Hussein regime said the Iraq War was poorly planned. Also, the U.S. handed over a base to their Iraqi counterparts near Baghdad.

Four civilians were wounded yesterday during a bombing at a garbage dump in Djerf al-Malah.

A bomb planted in a garbage dump near an Awakening Council (Sahwa) checkpoint wounded three members in Katoun.

In Mosul, a chauffer who was injured during the assassination of an Iraqiya list candidate earlier in the week has died of his wounds.

Four suspects were arrested near Amara.

Raids in Kahlaa netted ammunition, grenades and weapons.

Thieves in Najaf stole $5.5 million at a bank. Robberies such as this are often blamed on cash-strapped al-Qaeda members.
