At least 28 people were killed and 51 more were wounded in the latest attacks. A significant bombing took place in northern Baghdad. Also, a U.S. soldier died of non-combat injuries. Meanwhile, the U.S. military found themselves forced to quickly inspect more than 90,000 facilities in Iraq.
The Pentagon has been forced to carry on immediate inspections of 90,000 U.S.-run facilities in Iraq. A least three U.S. soldiers have been killed due to shoddy electrical workmanship and scores more were shocked. Subsequent inspections have turned up problems in about a third of the facilities so far inspected.
Baghdad, a car bomb outside a Shabb neighborhood maternity hospital killed 26 people and wounded 37 more near market stalls. A second bomb on Haifa St. wounded four people, including a secretary for the justice minister.
A guard was injured during a kidnapping attempt in Kirkuk. The man works for a court official. During the attempt, bystanders battled with the kidnappers causing them to flee without their catch.
Four electrical workers were injured during a bomb blast in Rashad.
A bomb in Iskandariya wounded three people.
An Iraqi soldier was injured in Riyadh.
Four suspects were detained in Basra.
Ten suspects were detained in Karbala.
A bomb was defused in Aziziya.
A Saudi was arrested for recruiting members for “Islamic State of Iraq” militia group.
