At least 16 Iraqis were killed and 41 others were wounded in light violence. A Turkish truck driver was injured in Mosul as well, but no Coalition deaths were reported.
A car bomb killed three security personnel and wounded 23 others in Tal Afar at a sports field. Three female bodies were discovered separately. This northern city has suffered a recent uptick in violence.
In Baghdad, a bomb left outside the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate wounded the union’s head and three others; two more people were reported injured. Four bodies were found buried in a yard in Saidiyah. One unidentified body was found dumped in Zaafaraniyah. Also, fourteen suspects were detained.
In Mosul, a roadside bomb killed one Iraqi soldier and wounded another. Gunmen killed two policemen at a checkpoint. An Iraqi soldier was wounded in a separate checkpoint attack. A car bomb was safely detonated by security forces. A roadside bomb in Faisaliyah wounded three civilians. Also, a possibly Turkish truck driver was wounded after a roadside bomb blasted his truck.
One policeman was killed and three more were wounded during a blast in Haditha.
Gunmen lobbed a grenade at a police patrol in Hit, wounding four.
In Karbala, a security plan has been readied for a religious observance that will take place on Monday.
Kurdish parties using Diyala province government buildings for their offices will abandon them.
A TNT cache was found in Makhmour.
Two wanted suspects were captured in Kut.
