Bombs, Clashes, Kill 27 Iraqis, Wound 28 More

At least 26 people were killed and 27 were wounded in today’s violence. One of the fatalities was a Syrian gunman.

In Baghdad, a bomb at a cafe in Arab Jabour left six people dead and 16 wounded.

Clashes between tribesmen and al-Qaeda suspects near Kirkuk href=”http://al-shorfa.com/en_GB/articles/meii/newsbriefs/2013/10/28/newsbrief-01″>two tribesmen and four suspects dead. One of the gunmen was Syrian. Three of the tribesmen were wounded.

Two people were killed and five more were wounded in a bombing in Abu Ghraib.

In Falluja, two policemen were killed and a third one was wounded in an attack at a checkpoint. A sniper wounded a policeman.

A roadside bomb in Balad killed a civilian and wounded another. A second bomb killed two policemen.

A Sahwa member was killed during a drive-by shooting in Madaen.

A sticky bomb killed a sheikh in Saidiya.

An oil ministry employee was killed in Khalidiya when a sticky bomb on his car blew up.

A farmer was killed in a home invasion in al-Alam.

Security forces in Jaminat killed two suicide bombers.

In Jazira, a gunman was killed during a security operation.

Two kidnapping victims were liberated in Amara.

In Basra, gunmen shot up a military checkpoint. No casualties were reported, but it is the first time a checkpoint in Basra was targeted by gunmen.
