Another Funeral, Another Bombing In Baghdad; 38 Killed

For the third day in a row, suicide bombers targeted a funeral in the Baghdad area. Baghdadis saw two other bombings. One of them was at a cafe, which is another favorite target for bombers. A number of smaller attacks took place elsewhere. Overall, at least 38 people were killed and 65 wounded.

In Baghdad, 16 people were killed and at least 34 were wounded in a suicide attack against a funeral in Raghibat Ghatoun. Three people were killed and eight more were wounded in a blast in Suleikh.

A bomb killed two people and wounded 10 more at a cafe in the Orfali neighborhood of Sadr City.

In Mosul, gunmen killed a sheikh and wounded another man. Two soldiers were killed at a checkpoint. An unoccupied home belonging to a policeman was blown up, leaving one civilian dead and another wounded. At least one more person was shot to death. A policeman and a soldier were kidnapped at a fake checkpoint. Also, a bomb targeting an ambulance carrying a woman in labor to the hospital killed three people. She was wounded, but the child was safely delivered at the hospital. The dead included the driver, a medic, and a relative of the pregnant woman.

Three policemen were killed and four more were wounded in a suicide car bombing in Ramadi.

Gunmen attacked a home in Yusufiya where they killed three people and wounded two more. A married couple and a 16-year-old son were killed. Two younger children were wounded.

Gunmen killed a civilian and wounded another in Abu Garma.

A farmer was shot dead near Baiji.

In Qayara, three people were wounded when two homes were blown up.
