Updated at 4:10 p.m. EST, Nov. 2, 2008

At least 25 Iraqis were killed and 24 more were wounded during numerous but small attacks today. No Coalition deaths were reported. Also, the Iraqis expect a response to amendments in a contentious security agreement to come after U.S. presidential elections on Tuesday. Instead of creating a long-term partnership, some analysts believe the changes actually map out a U.S. withdrawal.

In Mosul, a roadside bomb killed two Iraqi soldiers in Intisar. A suicide car bomber wounded one policeman during an attack on a patrol in a western neighborhood. On the east side of town, a roadside bomb wounded two policemen. Gunmen wounded an Iraqi soldier and a woman during an attack on a checkpoint. A blast in Khadraa left one child with wounds, while a separate explosion wounded a woman in Risala. Meanwhile, officials want the U.S. to raid more cities in Syria in hopes that it will help the violent situation in Mosul.

In Baghdad, one policeman was killed and three more were wounded when a roadside bomb blasted their patrol in Kamaliya. In Karrada, a policeman and a civilian were wounded during a roadside bombing. A bomb near a bus in Mashtal left two people dead. A body was found in a home. A blast near a popular restaurant on Palestine St. left no as yet reported casualties. A blast in Bab al-Muadham left no casualties. Two dumped bodies were found. Also, MNF forces captured a suspect.

A roadside bomb in Kirkuk killed at least two children and wounded as many as two more. Three people were wounded during a bombing in the Shoyoukh neighborhood. A bomb was planted on a car belonging to a man who works at an army base; he was injured in the explosion.

Gunmen dressed in national police or army uniforms stormed a home in Mansouriya. At least one woman was killed. As many as two daughters were killed as well and three other daughters were wounded. Another woman was kidnapped. In the past, the national police forces were the source of much sectarian violence, but these uniforms could have been stolen.

Six people were killed in Buhriz, when a roadside bomb blasted a vehicle carrying an Awakening Council (Sahwa) leader and his family.

Police found four bodies in a deserted area near Rutba.

A body bearing stab wounds was discovered in Hilla.

Three people were wounded during a roadside bomb in Hawija. A 14-year-old girl was kidnapped.

Gunmen wearing Iraqi army uniforms kidnapped three Kurdish truck drivers in Suleiman Pek. Relations between forces from the central government and Kurdish authorities were tense in border areas around the Kurdistan Autonomous Region in recent weeks as PM al-Maliki attempted to strengthen his authority. These men could have been soldiers or they could have been criminals in possession of army uniforms.

In Hibhib, seven suspects were detained and weaponry was confiscated.

Iraqi forces detained 65 suspects across Iraq.

U.S. troops captured six suspects in Nasariya.

A bike bomb was defused in Dhi Qar province.

Extra security forces were sent to the Syrian border around the city of Qaim, because Syrian troops were called away in protest over a U.S. raid last Sunday.
