At least eight Iraqis were killed and eight more were wounded in attacks across the country. No Coalition deaths were reported, but two American soldiers were injured during a bombing in Fallujah. Meanwhile, hundreds marched in Washington D.C. to protest the war on the sixth anniversary of the U.S.-led invastion. Also, the British Embassy today confirmed receiving a video featuring at least one of five British hostages kidnapped in 2007.
A new video showing at least one British hostage was sent to British authorities by his alleged kidnappers. Although the existence of the tape was confirmed, the British embassy gave no details. Management consultant Peter Moore and four British security guards were abducted from Sadr City. This is the first news of the quintet since February of last year.
Four Iraqi soldiers were killed in a bomb blast in Khanaqin.
In Mosul, a roadside bomb blast killed a civilian and wounded a child. Gunmen shot at police but wounded a civilian instead. U.S. forces defused a bomb, while another roadside bomb left no casualties.
Gunmen in Iskandariya shot at and wounded a policeman in the leg. A dumped body belonging to a guard was discovered.
The body of an Iraqi soldier was found in Qayara.
In Baghdad, seven suspects were arrested and 14 bombs were defused. In the evening, a bomb placed under a car blew up wounding four people, including two policemen who were walking by.
Gunmen attacked the Hilla home of a tribal leader. He was injured in the attack.
U.S. forces in Baquba killed a man they said showed "hostile intent."
Four suspects were captured in Dhi Qar.
A joint Iraqi-MNF team raided a bomb-making factory in Hawija and arrested 33 suspects.
In Karbala, 27 suspects were detained.
