At least 14 Iraqis were killed and 52 more were wounded in the latest reports of violence in Iraq. No Coalition deaths were announced. In odd news, the family of an Iraqi journalist living in Jordan is now denying that 11 members of their family were assassinated a couple days ago in Baghdad. Also, refugees are streaming back into Iraq from Syria at a greater rate than they are leaving. Despite the rosier picture, journalists say that Baghdad is still dangerous.

Iraqi soldiers wounded four bodyguards working for the state minister for tribal affairs during a stop at a checkpoint in al-Harthiya. Police reported that an argument between the convoy members and the checkpoint operators turned into a full-blown clash.
In Baghdad, a roadside bomb wounded four people, including two Iraqi soldiers, in Mansour. At the Shurta Tunnel another bomb wounded three civilians. Also, three dumped bodies were found. Yesterday, a gunbattle left 10 wounded in Saidiya.
In Mosul, a policeman was gunned down in the al-Karamah neighborhood. A second policeman was injured during an armed attack in the Palestine neighborhood.
Gunmen killed a man at a used car dealership in Hawija.
Iraqi soldiers killed four suspects and arrested 27 more in various locations. Five gunmen were arrested in Diwaniya. Also, police detained 16 men near Kirkuk in al-Rashad. Meanwhile, a U.S. general said he wants a reduction in the number of detainees in Iraqi jails. Sunni leaders say many are being held without charge.
