At least 149 Iraqis were killed or found dead and 62 Iraqis were wounded during the latest attacks. Most were killed during U.S. raids in Baghdad, a suicide bombing in Muqdadiyah or found in a mass grave near Fallujah. Also, an American soldier was killed and three more wounded when an explosively formed penetrator was detonated near them in southern Baghdad.
In Ferris, as many as 40 bodies were recovered from a recently dug mass grave.
U.S. forces killed 26 alleged suspects and detained 17 others during overnight raids in Sadr City. However, residents, police, and hospital officials reported that at least eight of the dead were innocent civilians killed in their homes as the U.S. forces fired blindly. Several other civilians were injured.
A suicide bomber detonated his cargo while in a crowd of police recruits outside a market in Muqdadiyah. At least 25 people were killed and 22 wounded. Also, a child was injured during separate sniper fire.
In Baghdad, 16 dumped bodies were found, mostly in western neighborhoods. Four people were wounded when mortars landed near Abu Dsheer. Mortars in Doura injured another four people. Four more were injured in Sahha. Also, a civilian was killed on Friday during clashing in al-Rashad. Ten people were killed and seven kidnapped during overnight violence in Doura, said the Iraqi Islamic Party in a statement.
Gunmen attempted to assassinate the Imam of the Khalis mosque. Three gunmen were killed. Eight people, including police and faithful were injured. In a separate incident, gunmen injured a policeman, a man and a child during random gunfire.
In Mosul, three men were killed in separate incidents on the eastern edge of town.
A local Daquq official was killed when gunmen threw a hand grenade in his car.
Iraqi soldiers killed one suspect and detained 25 other suspects during raids in Diyala province.
Police defused two bombs found planted near oil pipelines in Kirkuk. Gunmen killed a civilian.
An Egyptian al-Qaeda leader was killed near Fallujah.
Two bodies were found in Kan’an.
Two civilians were killed when a roadside bomb blasted their car near Khalouf village.
Mortars falling on Buhriz injured a 70-year-old man.
Gunmen in Balad Ruz planted roadside bombs which caused damage to a building.
A police colonel was kidnapped in Basra. Also, a captain of the border guards was killed. Also, British troops clashed with gunmen but no casualties were reported.
Four decapitated bodies were brought into the hospital in Fallujah.
Three policemen were injured during shelling in Kubaisa.
Several policemen were killed or injured during an attack near Haqlaniyah.
Two children were killed and 12 were wounded when a mortar landed in a football field in Asiriya.
Angry rioting over a fuel crises took place in Kut, but no casualties were reported.
Turkey launched shells into northern Iraq, but no casualties were reported.
Police defused a bomb planted near a bridge east of Nasariya.
In Dayr, nine people were killed during fighting between two tribes.
Also, the U.S. military claims that reports of 20 beheaded corpses found near Salman Pak were false.
