At least six Iraqis were killed and eight more were wounded in relatively light violence following an active May.

In Mosul, gunmen killed two visitors from Tikrit. An I.E.D. killed one policeman and wounded another. Gunmen killed a civilian who operated a community generator. An I.E.D. failed to harm the provincial governor.

An army colonel was shot dead while standing outside his Falluja home.

In Baiji, a sticky bomb killed a counter-terrorism official.

A bomb wounded three in Muqdadiya.

A roadside bomb in Jurf al-Sakhar wounded two soldiers.

Two Sahwa members were injured in a blast in Shirqat.
