Wednesday: 13 Iraqis Killed, 16 Wounded

At least 13 Iraqis were killed and 16 more were wounded in a string of small attacks. The worst, in Hit, involved a suicide bomber at a medial compound. Also, Ankara said the any issues with the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) does not affect trade with Iraq.

In Hit, three policemen were killed along two gunmen during a clash. One of the arrested gunmen detonated a suicide vest after he was taken to a medical center, killing himself. At least three other people were wounded. A bomb killed one person and wounded another.

In Baghdad, gunmen killed two policemen and wounded another during an attack on a Doura checkpoint. A roadside bomb in Amil wounded two people, including a policeman. A sticky bomb placed on a vehicle belonging to a parliamentary employee wounded two soldiers at their checkpoint in Mansour.

In Mosul, a bomb wounded a civilian. A bomb in Meshraq killed a policeman and wounded his companion. A weapons cache was found. A bomb blasted a police car, wounding a prisoner inside.

A woman’s body was found in Kirkuk. Gunmen killed a policeman. A blasted a U.S. vehicle but no casualties were reported.

Police found the body of a Khaleej councilman.

Fourteen suspects were detained in Baquba.

Three families were able to return to their homes in Buhriz.

Police have tightened security after receiving information on a suicide attack against their forces housed at a historic compound in Tal Afar.

A blast blamed on the PKK wounded four soldiers in Turkey.
