Thursday: 4 Iraqis Killed, 28 Wounded

At least four Iraqis were killed and 28 more were wounded in the latest attacks. Also, Turkey reported killing another 19 Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) rebels in last week’s air assault. Independently confirmed accounts are impossible from this region of Iraq; however, the PKK has admitted so some deaths. Also, one Turkish soldier was killed and four more were wounded in clashes on the Turkish side of the border.

In Baghdad, a roadside bomb blast wounded six people in Allawi. A bomb in Iskan wounded another four people. Two more were wounded by a blast in Harithiya. In Jihad, another bomb wounded three more people. A sticky bomb wounded a driver in Mashtal. A university professor was shot to death by one of his students. No casualties were reported after a Katyusha rocket struck Tawitha.

In Mosul, mortars fell on a fabric factory, wounding 11 people. Two Iraqi soldiers were killed in a blast. A blast at an important tribal member’s home wounded his wife. Gunmen killed a civilian. A suspect was arrested. A weapons cache was found.

A man was arrested in Saidiya on suspicion of killing his father and brothers.

A military operation in Khalis ended with the arrest of 15 suspects.
