At least 52 people were killed and 66 more were wounded in fresh violence. The one reported attack against pilgrims did not produce the high casualty figures. Instead, it was a military operation in Anbar province that went awry.

At least 42 people were killed and 41 more were wounded in prayer day attacks. The only major attack took place in northern Iraq, and it did not seem to be targeting pilgrims.

As the Arbaeen observance draws nearer, Shi’ite pilgrims remain easy targets for insurgents. At least 73 people were killed today, and another 121 were wounded. Most of the casualties occurred between Baghdad and Karbala.

At least 30 people were killed and 53 more were wounded in today’s attacks. Once again Shi’ite pilgrims were targeted, and among those were Pakistani and Saudi victims.

At least 33 people were killed and 62 more were wounded in fresh attacks, several of them against pilgrims who are walking to Karbala for Arbaeen observances.

Attacks against Shi’ite pilgrims stole the headlines today in Baghdad and Mosul. Perhaps even more frightening, suicide bombers also attacked government buildings and took hostages north of the capital. Overall, at least 100 people were killed and 183 more were wounded.

At least 37 people were killed and another 62 more were wounded in today’s violence. Another journalist was assassinated in northern Iraq, while a family of five was killed in Diyala province. A series of bombings took place across Baghdad as well.

At least 34 people were killed, including a group of Shi’ite pilgrims, and 43 more were wounded in attacks across Iraq.

A bold attack on Iranians working on a gas pipeline in Diyala province helped drive today’s casualty figures up to at least 46 dead and 56 wounded across Iraq.

At least 22 people were killed and 30 more were wounded in Iraq attacks.
