The United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child said on Wednesday that large numbers of children are being recruited by Islamic State militants for suicide missions or other dangerous jobs. Others are being sexually abused or used as human shields.

A series of bombing rattled Baghdad on Tuesday. At least 59 people were killed across the country. Another 56 were wounded.

At least 96 people were killed, including those whose bodies were found in a mass grave, and 46 more were wounded.

At least 205 were killed in Iraq and another 27 were wounded.

January closed out with 293 deaths and 289 wounded. Most of the casualties were among the Islamic State militants. That brought the monthly totals to 6,106 dead and 1,953 wounded.

At least 197 people were killed and 41 were wounded. Several attacks targeting Kurdish forces took place in northern and eastern Iraq. The attacks underscore the successes Kurdish forces have had, but those successes are in danger due to infighting between the different factions fighting against Islamic State militants. Sheikh Ahmed Abu Risha was in Washington to ask for help in arming Sunni tribesmen. That help would not only assist in defeating the ISIS/DAASH militants but also protect Sunnis who are at the mercy of well-armed Shi’ite militiamen, as well as the militants themselves.

A series of blasts and an attack took place in the Greater Baghdad region. Across the country, at least 183 were killed and 85 more were wounded. Most of the dead were militants.

Well over 500 militant deaths were reported today. The figures were released by government agencies and not independently confirmed. Overall, at least 585 people were killed and 77 were wounded across Iraq.

At least 109 people were killed across Iraq and 13 more were wounded.

At least 215 people were killed and 299 were wounded. Most of the casualties today were either civilian or military. In Anbar, officials accused militiamen of killing civilians, and in Mosul mortar fire accidentally released a poisonous cloud of chlorine gas.
