Eight Iraqis Killed at Home, 23 in Syria

Iraq received the bodies of 23 Iraqis killed during violence in Syria. Two of them were reporters killed in Damascus, while the other 21 were killed outside the Syrian capital. Syria has taken in many Iraqi refugees. Baghdad has urged them to return home. Meanwhile, at least eight people were killed in Iraq, while another five were wounded.

14 Iraqis Killed As Iraqis Mark 1958 Revolution

The Iraqi Communist Party celebrated the 54th anniversary of the July 14, 1958 declaration of the republic with a march in Baghdad. Although the march also called for improved services, the demonstrators were not met with any violence. However, attacks continued elsewhere, leaving 14 dead and 11 more wounded.
