At least 28 people were killed and 98 more were wounded across the country today. Baghdad was again struck with a series of bombings, but so were many other towns across the region.

At least 13 Iraqis were killed today, while another 24 were wounded. Also, the Iraqi government reported that 23 people were executed during the last week. Three of them were convicted on criminal charges, but the rest were accused of terrorism offences. Meanwhile, Antiwar.com compiled a total of 1,271 deaths for September.,

A series of bombings took place in mostly Shi’ite neighborhoods of Baghdad, including Sadr City. Due to the effectiveness of the many bombings, different sources have been giving highly conflicting casualty figures, but at least 65 were killed and 203 more were wounded.

At least 83 people were killed and 162 more were wounded in attacks that took place across Iraq, even into Kurdistan. The Islamic State in Iraq staged a complicated attack against security forces there. Meanwhile, to the south of Baghdad, a suicide bomber compounded the misery of mourners by attacking a funeral. More attacks took place across northern and eastern Iraq.

Bomb explosions once again reverberated across the greater Baghdad area, but today’s attacks were spread far and wide to the east and north of the capital. At least 23 people were killed today and 65 more were wounded in them.

At least 21 people were killed and 59 more were wounded in fresh violence. The worst attacks took place near two Baghdad mosques.

Bombers struck at two Baghdad markets leaving dozens dead or wounded. Less deadly, but numerous, attacks took place elsewhere in central and northern Iraq. Overall at least 58 people were killed and 109 more were wounded.

At least 61 people were killed and 98 were wounded in fresh violence today. Gunmen attempted to storm two government buildings near Kirkuk but were repulsed. A significant bombing also took place in Mosul.

At least 35 people were killed and 48 more were wounded in new attacks. No major bombings took place, but dozens of militants attacked two towns in western Anbar province.

For the third day in a row, suicide bombers targeted a funeral in the Baghdad area. Baghdadis saw two other bombings. One of them was at a cafe, which is another favorite target for bombers. A number of smaller attacks took place elsewhere. Overall, at least 38 people were killed and 65 wounded.
