Iraqis Targeted on Market Day: 38 Killed, 106 Wounded

Several blasts targeted Iraqi civilians in Baghdad and cities to the south. Overall, at least 38 people were killed and 106 more were wounded in the violence. Also, anti-government rallies continued in Sunni-populated regions, including the major cities of Samarra, Mosul, Tikrit, Falluja and Ramadi.

Two Killed in Iraq Violence

Large anti-Maliki rallies took place in western Iraq, a week after soldiers killed protesters at a similar rally. In response, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki promised to honor “legitimate” demands. Violence was light. Only two Iraqis were killed and four more were wounded in the latest reports.
