The violence was spread far and wide today. Bombings took place in several cities. Security operations against militants also too place throughout the country. At least 87 people were killed and 121 more were wounded.

Bombers again struck Baghdad, but they also hit south of the capital in the Hilla area. Meanwhile fighting continued in Anbar and Salah ad Din provinces. In political news, Moqtada al-Sadr came out of retirement, and a U.S. soldier convicted of heinous acts in Iraq was found dead in prison. Overall, at least 142 people were killed and 163 more were wounded.

A bombing spree took place across Baghdad today, leaving dozens dead or injured. Also, a northern city was retaken from the control of militants. At least 76 were killed and 116 were wounded.

At least 58 people were killed in fresh violence, and 42 more were wounded. Clashes continued in Ramadi and Falluja. The third city under militant control, Suleiman Bek, also saw clashes. Also, Shi’ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr said he would retire from politics just two months before national elections.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki traveled to Anbar Province to meet with tribal and military leaders. Meanwhile, at least 49 people were killed, and another 36 were wounded in new attacks.

At least 70 people were killed, mostly militants, and 24 more were wounded in security operations and attacks.

Today’s attacks left 40 dead and 59 wounded, including several foreign medical workers. Also, ISIS/DAASH militants took over a northern Iraq town in Salah ad Din province. Militants have tried to take over the town as recently as last year, but considering the events in Anbar, this attempt could be more serious.

At least 35 people were killed and another 41 were wounded across Iraq. Also, the U.N. released an estimate of the number of Iraqis internally displaced by the fighting in Anbar.

At least 60 people were killed and 60 more were wounded today. A gruesome attack in northern Iraq left 16 dead at an army base. In Falluja, a doctor was injured when mortars fell on his hospital. Five people were killed and 31 more were wounded in mortar or artillery...

Although attacks and airstrikes continues in Anbar, the main source of militant casualties was an accidental bomb explosion at a bomb-making class in northern Iraq. Also, there were assassination attempts against the speaker of the house and a Turkmen political leader. At least 45 people were killed and 97 more were wounded in the attacks.
