In political news, Moqtada al-Sadr came out of retirement, and a U.S. soldier convicted of heinous acts in Iraq was found dead in prison. Overall, at least 142 people were killed and 163 more were wounded.

Although attacks and airstrikes continues in Anbar, the main source of militant casualties was an accidental bomb explosion at a bomb-making class in northern Iraq.
