Major Attack in Baiji; 99 Killed across Iraq

Thousands across Iraq demonstrated in support of the new reform plan. The crowds also demanded the restoration of services such as power and water. Meanwhile, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani called on the government to work on revamping the justice system, which has been a major source of corruption and other issues.

Violence left at least 99 dead and 10 wounded:

Over 200 militants attacked Baiji on Friday. Many security personnel were killed or hurt during the fighting, but no exact figures were released. At least 23 militants were killed.

In Mosul, four politicians were executed. Two militants were shot dead by unknown gunmen.

In al-Rayash, three militiamen were killed during an attack. Mortars nearby killed two civilians.

A roadside bomb near Baaj killed 17 Afghan militants.

Twelve militants were killed during strikes on Qayara.

Airstrikes left 12 militants dead in Khalidiya.

In Husayba, 10 militants were killed.

Eight militants were killed in Ramadi. Dozens more were killed in airstrikes.

In Rutba, airstrikes killed two militant officials and four others. At least 10 militants were wounded.
