Iraq Security Forces Focus of Attacks That Leave 25 Dead

At least 25 people were killed and 28 more were wounded in attacks that focused on security forces.

Five soldiers were killed and four more were wounded in a double bombing at a Baiji refinery.

Gunmen killed four Sahwa members and wounded two more at a Samarra checkpoint.

In Mosul, a car bomb killed a civilian and wounded seven others, including Peshmerga fighters. A civilian was killed in crossfire. Gunmen killed two people in a mechanics shop.

Three Sahwa elements were shot dead in Balad.

In Baghdad, a bomb killed a government employee. A dumped body was discovered. One person was killed and eight more were wounded in a blast south of Baghdad.

In Ramadi, a grenade killed a civilian near the stadium. A civilian was killed during a home invasion.

Gunmen killed a civilian in Jurf al-Sakhar.

A suicide bomber was stopped in Kirkuk, but one policeman was wounded in his failed attempt.

In Qayara, gunmen attacked a policeman’s home where they killed his brother. An I.E.D. blast wounded a policeman on patrol.

Five policemen were wounded in a pair of blasts in Suwayra.

A gunman was killed.
