Iraq Attacks Focus on Policemen’s Homes

Violence targeted police and other security personnel today. Several of the attacks were on the homes of policemen, and they left civilian relatives dead or wounded in their wake. At least seven Iraqis were killed and 13 more were wounded overall.

Uniformed gunmen stormed a policeman’s home in Jurf al-Sakhar, where they killed three people, including the policeman’s two children. The wounded policeman was taken to a hospital.

A policeman was killed and three members of his family were wounded when bombs planted around his Ramadi home were detonated.

During an attack on a policeman’s home in al-Bubali Island, one relative was killed and two others were wounded.

In Mosul, gunmen killed an off-duty policeman near his home. A separate bombing, also targeting police, killed a bystander and wounded two others including police.

A roadside bomb in Shirqat wounded two people, including one bystander.

A bomb exploded at the parliament office in Baquba last night, but no casualties were reported. A separate bomb wounded two people.

A Sahwa member was wounded in Gatoun, when a bomb attached to his car exploded.
