Friday: 1 US Soldier, 8 Iraqis Killed; 8 Iraqis Wounded

At least eight Iraqis were killed and eight more were wounded in the latest attacks. One U.S. soldier also died in a non-combat incident in Baghdad. Meanwhile, Iraq is asking the U.S. to explain reports that officials met with insurgent groups leaders in Turkey.

Gunmen led police in Tal Afar to four bodies hidden in an abandoned home.

Two dumped bodies were found in Saidiya.

A pair of car bombs in Biaaj left one dead. Another bomb killed an Iraqi soldier.

In Baghdad, a roadside bomb wounded eight people in the Saidiya neighborhood.

Thirty suspects were arrested in Ramadi.

Two Katyusha rockets landed at an airbase near Amara.

Two men were arrested and 280 shells were recovered in separate incidents in Missan province.

Kurdish special forces and local police will maintain a curfew in Sulaimaniyah during Kurdish elections.

A car bomb was safely detonated in Sinjar.
