Dear readers, I’ve been undergoing some pretty intense anticancer treatments the past few days and will be going through this throughout the holiday season. Despite the fact that I am getting better, some of the side effects are quite fearsome. This isn’t always the case but it is today and so I am taking Christmas off. My apologies: I’ll be back next week.
NOTES IN THE MARGIN
You can check out my Twitter feed by going here. But please note that my tweets are sometimes deliberately provocative, often made in jest, and largely consist of me thinking out loud.
I’ve written a couple of books, which you might want to peruse. Here is the link for buying the second edition of my 1993 book, Reclaiming the American Right: The Lost Legacy of the Conservative Movement, with an Introduction by Prof. George W. Carey, a Foreword by Patrick J. Buchanan, and critical essays by Scott Richert and David Gordon (ISI Books, 2008).
You can buy An Enemy of the State: The Life of Murray N. Rothbard (Prometheus Books, 2000), my biography of the great libertarian thinker, here.

Hang in there Justin!!! All of us loyal antiwar.com devotees are pulling for you to fight your way back to vitality. We need your firm & steady hand steering this antiwar ship of hope. Your keen judgment is aw.c’s greatest asset. Just in the last few days you have been vindicated as prognosticating the unthinkable, that Trump would deliver on his oft experssed predelections concerning war for war’s sake halfway round the globe. Who but you, would have, could have…… mlmpredicted such an unthinkable scenario. I bet you have even surprised yourself!!! Rest well & be strong………….
Get well, Justin!!
Hang in there Justin! Some positive news this Christmas season for a change, re: Syria. We all hope 2019 is a great year for the world, peace, America and yourself.
It’s winter solstice time. Light cometh.
Pray for the science to work !
The Deep State is quite literally eating itself alive. I can’t think of a better gift for all of us. For once, your boy in Washington has done good, but you’re not gloating. You’re better than most. I would be wagging my damn finger until it fell off.
Bringing the board back is a good enough gift for me. Rest up, comrade, we’ve got hell to raise and wars to stop. Merry Christmas and happy holidays.
Hang in there — and enjoy the oversized ouutrage of the media-military-industrial-government-political academia complex. And these people, divorced from the reality, think all that globe-trotting, venom-spitting un-diplomats as well as countless military bases and acknowledged/unacknowledged wars are — FREE.
They are still looking in shock at the stock market carnage, and read Chinese tea leaves, to conclude that it is all Truml’s fault. Forgetting that we are spending ourselvelves into oblivion, and have been since 1999 bombing of Serbia to “liberate” Kosovo. Since then, until today — our soldiers as part of UN authorized NATO force (KFOR) are there to safeguard minority Serbs from being murdered by our “allies” Kosovo Albanians. They are there guarding ancient monasteries, churches and barbed wire surrounded hamlets, insuring they are not burned to the ground as 100+ have been. Our “allies” , Kosovo Albanians know very well our foreign policy Achilles heel — that we cannot admit we were wrong, and will have to support every outrage they committ. Nice way to make a living, if you can have it.
So, who will bankroll the continued US economic profilgacy? Taxpayers cannot take on more debt. Financial institutions are reluctant to intervene. AND in spite of all the evidence that we cannot continue spending on things that we have no pressing interest in —- outrage at Trump’s reigning in the spending is in overdrive!
Wish you will feel better soon. Cheer up — you have been proven right.
You have a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2019 Justin!
Here’s to peace on Earth. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
Talk to the hand, sister!
We love you, Justin! Keep up your spirits!
