Intense shelling is driving residents out of Garma. The military is peppering the city just east of Baghdad as a precursor to freeing it from militant control.

Security forces killed 15 militants in Malahma.
Five militants were killed in Garma.
Security forces in al-Ghribaween killed one militant and wounded another.
An unknown number of militants were killed when Peshmerga units and Coalition fighters destroyed a militant weapons depot in Kesk.
