33 Killed as Suicide Bombers Strike Baghdad, Samarra

Suicide bombers struck in Baghdad and Samarra, killing dozens. Overall, at least 33 were killed and 74 were wounded across the country.

In Baghdad, a suicide bomber killed 15 people and wounded 32 more when he attacked a Shi’ite mosque during Friday prayers in Kiraiyat.

A uniformed suicide bomber attacked a square in Samarra where protesters have gathered in the past, killing 12 people and wounding 21 more.

A bomb killed one person and wounded 17 more in Kut.

Gunmen killed one soldier and wounded two other security personnel in Falluja.

In Hawija, two militants were killed as they were handling a bomb.

Gunmen wounded two civilians in Jubail.
