Sanctioning Iran Is an Act of War
Before the US House of Representatives, April 22, 2010, Statement on Motion to Instruct Conferees on HR 2194, Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability and Divestment Act.
I rise in opposition to this motion to instruct House conferees on HR 2194, the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability and Divestment Act, and I rise in strong opposition again to the underlying bill and to its Senate version as well. I object to this entire push for war on Iran, however it is disguised. Listening to the debate on the Floor on this motion and the underlying bill it feels as if we are back in 2002 all over again: the same falsehoods and distortions used to push the United States into a disastrous and unnecessary one-trillion-dollar war on Iraq are being trotted out again to lead us to what will likely be an even more disastrous and costly war on Iran. The parallels are astonishing.
We hear war advocates today on the Floor scare-mongering about reports that in one year Iran will have missiles that can hit the United States. Where have we heard this bombast before? Anyone remember the claims that Iraqi drones were going to fly over the United States and attack us? These "drones" ended up being pure propaganda – the UN chief weapons inspector concluded in 2004 that there was no evidence that Saddam Hussein had ever developed unpiloted drones for use on enemy targets. Of course by then the propagandists had gotten their war so the truth did not matter much.
We hear war advocates on the floor today arguing that we cannot afford to sit around and wait for Iran to detonate a nuclear weapon. Where have we heard this before? Anyone remember then-Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice’s oft-repeated quip about Iraq, that we cannot wait for the smoking gun to appear as a mushroom cloud?
We need to see all this for what it is: Propaganda to speed us to war against Iran for the benefit of special interests.
Let us remember a few important things. Iran, a signatory of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, has never been found in violation of that treaty. Iran is not capable of enriching uranium to the necessary level to manufacture nuclear weapons. According to the entire US Intelligence Community, Iran is not currently working on a nuclear weapons program. These are facts, and to point them out does not make one a supporter or fan of the Iranian regime. Those pushing war on Iran will ignore or distort these facts to serve their agenda, though, so it is important and necessary to point them out.
Some of my well-intentioned colleagues may be tempted to vote for sanctions on Iran because they view this as a way to avoid war on Iran. I will ask them whether the sanctions on Iraq satisfied those pushing for war at that time. Or whether the application of ever-stronger sanctions in fact helped war advocates make their case for war on Iraq: as each round of new sanctions failed to "work" – to change the regime – war became the only remaining regime-change option.
This legislation, whether the House or Senate version, will lead us to war on Iran. The sanctions in this bill, and the blockade of Iran necessary to fully enforce them, are in themselves acts of war according to international law. A vote for sanctions on Iran is a vote for war against Iran. I urge my colleagues in the strongest terms to turn back from this unnecessary and counterproductive march to war.

Ron Paul has it right. The warmongers want a repeat of the Iraqi debacle. The strategy is simple: cripple Iran with sanctions before sending in the troops. And, to what purpose? Here is a signatory of the NNPT aspiring to peaceful use of nuclear technology, and submitting to IAEA inspections facing a bellicose Zionist entity, with a standing nuclear arsenal and doling out imminents threats of an attack. Are Americans even listening to where their "eternal" ally in the Zionist entity leading them?

There is at least one man in congress that is willing to tell the truth amidst the overwhelming majority that lies for war. Ron Paul is a great man for standing up to these cowards who seek war against another impoverished nation.

Bravo Congressman Ron Paul! Why is not Congress listening to this well-informed and honest man? War is all about profits. We need look no further than to Red Star, Haliburton, KBR, Blackwater, Raytheon, Martin-Marietta etc., etc. When one investigates, one finds politicians, yes those same individuals who are making law and foreign policy decisions heavily invested in the defense and security industries. Is it any wonder that they vote for more war???

Does anyone have suggestions for how to communicate with the dumb, pro-Zionist public, about how our policies are dooming us? If Ron Paul can't get through their thick skulls I don't know who can.

Sanctions only work after you have desroyed a country in a previous war like what happened in Iraq. Bomb the shit out of there water treatment facilities, slap some santions on them so they can't repair them and sit back while 500,000 children die. Those are the only sanctions that would be "worth it" as the bitch albright said.

Part 1 of 4
I intensely oppose blindly following anyone especially the political leaders. Yet in my view Ron Paul stands up as an admirable personality, maybe a superstar.
Why? Let me explain.
In the last 9 months I have been researching the turmoil of the Iranian June 2009 election. I have found quite a few surprises. In the following I just refer to a few.
Now, based on 3 western polls, specifically the WPO poll of the University of Maryland, I strongly believe Ahmadinejad won the election by a very wide margin and there is not a single reliable evidence of fraud and if there were any minor irregularities they are “Statistically Insignificant”. The above polls match with the polls of University of Tehran and actual results published by the Iranian Ministry of Interior.

Part 2
One surprise was how the Western media, especially the US media, even before the end of counting votes, started spreading lies on “fraud” and “rigging” disregarding the US-TFT poll which predicted a clear win for Ahmadinejad. This happened in unanimity and in a coordinated way as if the trumpeting of those lies were preplanned or masterminded by determined enemies of Iran.
Joseph Geobbels the Nazi Propaganda Minister once said “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it”. In my view, the story of fraud in that election was that kind of the “big lie”, nearly everyone (except a few pollsters and Intelligence Insiders) believed the lie including appreciated scholars such as Noam Chomsky, Eric Margolis, Justin Raimondo or Joan Cole. The first two in that list believed there was some fraud but Ahmadinejad won.

Part 3
I skip mentioning other compelling documents that prove lack of any rigging or deliberate fraud in that important election.
Here is where Ron Paul comes into this outstanding picture:
The US Congress passed a resolution condemning the Iranian election. Only Ron Paul voted against it. In the Senate the vote for a similar resolution which was brought in by Jon McCain was “unanimous” !
In the whole legislative system just a single man had the ability to smell rat and the courage to oppose a corrupt hypocritic process.
Hypocritic since it is hard to believe none of the congressmen and senators had no contacts with Intelligence Agencies or had no knowledge of polls such as TFT, which was published by Voice of America 3 days before the election, or none of them knew about the views of Flynt Leverette who was sure Ahmadinejad is going to win outright.

Ron Paul……I have never believed in heros and my vison for a just society is not the same as yours…..yet I deeply admire you, in particular admire your honesty and integrity …features that are so desperately needed in this era of profoundly corrupted political environments.
So many in the US and around the world will praise you more finding out you were the SOLE person who, in the case of Iranian election, swam against the flow in a troubling river that takes us all to a heinoous, unnecessary and bloody war…they all wish there were more souls like you…..sadly the evil forces are prevailing easily and not too many can hear your message in the background of the laud and powerful shouts of the psychopathic warmongers……. …..

Lets hope we make it to 2012, if the Zionists that are destroying the entire world get what they are looking for it could start WWIII, and who knows who will be left standing after that? If there is any justice Israel will crumble under the weight of their suicidal hubris and insanity.

As a former Christian Zionist, I believed that God gave Israel the land of Palestine. I changed my mind after realizing that the modern, secular state of israel is not the Israel of the Bible. Today I use the Bible verse most Christian Zionists are only vaguely aware of:
Genesis 15:18 (New King James Version)
On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying:
“To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates – (google a map of Greater Israel)
And I ask them, how many Muslms are YOU willing to kill to fulfill that ancient, conditional promise?

In these days of fear and confusion let us remember that the endless repetition of a lie or the multipication of an empty promise does not make a truth. Truth is something more that the greatest common denominator of mass ignorance and greed. It is never determined or demonstrated by majorities or pluralities of popular error and appetite. Ultimately, with God's aid, it always emerges and finally prevails, supreme in its power over the destiny of mankind and terrible in its retribution for those who deny, defy, or betray it. author Virgil Jordan

What this legislation will do in essence is to force Obama to make a decision to make war on Iran or not.
Obama can veto it, and if the traitors override the veto, Obama can refuse to implement the act, on the grounds that it unconstitutionally infringes on the foreign policy authority of the Executive Branch, similar to what happened in the case of the outrageous "Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995".
I hope I'm wrong, but I predict that Obama will disingenuously say that Congress is forcing this on him and will sign it and implement it, accordingly, leading to the war our Zionist Masters are demanding.

This is the question we should all be asking, and brainstorming an answer to. How do we get our friends, neighbors and casual acquaintances to understand what is going on? Most people in this country are thoroughly brainwashed by the media and the university system.

Ron Paul is a true patriot. While my vision of America may not match his exactly, I will support him with every ounce of energy in my soul because he offers a better future for my family, America and the world. There is not one representative in this nation who exemplifies his courage or conviction; and he is continuously spot on with his world view. God help us all! We are going to need it if this man's words continue to be ignored.
