A bomb in Baghdad and random attacks left 26 dead across Iraq.

At least 12 Iraqis were killed and 23 more were wounded in the latest violence.

Central Iraq, from east to west, was the focus of today’s attack, which killed at least 28 people and wounded 75 more. The figures could go higher throughout the day.

At least 16 Iraqis were killed and 29 more were wounded in scattered attacks.

Attacks struck Shi’ite cities and neighborhoods south of Baghdad today. At least 49 people were killed 100 more were wounded in them.

Iraq pulled the broadcast licenses of 10 satellite television stations, claiming the stations are provoking sectarian unrest. Internationally respected al-Jazeera was among the stations punished. Security forces also arrested a tribal leader who had been promoting demonstrations. Meanwhile, at least seven Iraqis were killed and nine more were wounded in comparatively light violence.

Although attacks tapered off today, as is the case in recent days, the figures are likely much higher. Overall, at least 13 Iraqis were killed and 11 more were wounded. Another 10 casualties were reported, but the make-up of the figures was not released.

After three days of unrest in the north, bomb attacks in Baghdad took center stage. At least 38 Iraqis were killed and 109 more were wounded in those and other attacks across the country. However, because several locations did not provide any figures, the true tally could be much higher.

A third day of widespread unrest across northern Iraq led to the deaths of dozens. At least 96 Iraqis were killed and 79 more were wounded, but the final tally is unknown as many of the casualties went uncounted in the chaos.

At least 86 Iraqis were killed and 128 more were wounded in a second day of violence. Dozens more who were killed injured during an aerial attack in Suleiman Bek and clashes in Baiji remain uncounted.
