Bombers attacked both security and civilian targets today in three towns across Iraq. At least 317 people were killed, mostly militants. Another 145 were wounded, about half of them security members.

At least 238 were killed today and 18 more were wounded. Most of the casualties were militants. Iraqi forces reclaimed several more villages today.

Hundreds of militants were killed in security operations across Iraq on Saturday. At least two strategic towns were brought back under Iraqi or Kurdish control. Two more towns were also liberated. At least 716 people were killed and 107 were wounded. Very few security deaths were reported in these violent clashes, so the numbers are likely much higher.

At least 286 were killed in the latest attacks and 155 were wounded. A U.S. Marine also died, but he was not killed in combat.

Civilian casualties were remarkably light today, but battles raged in western Iraq and at least one town fell to Islamic State militants. Overall, 114 people were killed and five were wounded.

A recent surge in bombings continued in Baghdad late on Wednesday, but battles with the Islamic State militants left the most casualties. At least 282 were killed there and elsewhere across Iraq. Another 116 were wounded.

At least 58 people were killed and 45 were wounded across Iraq on Wednesday. Bombers struck in Baghdad, again.

Bombers moved on to the holy city of Karbala, perhaps in response to Monday’s meeting between Prime Minister Abadi and Grand Ayatollah Sistani. Attack there and battles elsewhere left 243 dead and 139 wounded.

At least 146 people were killed today and 63 more were wounded. Islamic State militants staged an attack just a few miles from Baghdad on Sunday.

At least 294 people were killed on Saturday as parliament finished approving the new government for Iraq. Another 66 were wounded. Bombers took a break from attacking Baghdad. Iraqi airstrikes on militant locations claimed most of the fatalities.
