37 Killed in Iraq Including Imam

Turkish war planes bombed suspected Kurdistan Workers Party (P.K.K.) sites in Dohuk province.

At least 37 were killed and 27 were wounded in lightly reported violence:

A suicide bomber targeting troops at Jeraishi killed five and wounded 12 more. Heavy fighting that followed left seven militants dead.

The body of the preacher and imam at the Abu Khanizir mosque was discovered.

In Samarra, shelling wounded five militiamen who were protecting Shi’ite pilgrims.

A civilian was wounded when shells struck Mukhisa.

Eighteen militants were killed in an airstrike in Qaim.

A strike near Albu Risha left five militants dead and nine wounded.
