Bombs, Shootings Take Their Toll Across Iraq; 43 Killed, 76 Wounded

At least 43 people were killed and 76 more were wounded in today’s attacks. Mosul suffered from several attacks.

Anbar:

Seven civilians were killed and 20 more were wounded from shelling in Falluja. Ten militants were killed.

Near Haditha, a bomb killed one policeman and wounded another.

Seven militants were killed in a clash in Numaniya.

Elsewhere:

In Mosul, a roadside bomb killed three policemen and wounded 12 others.. Two policemen were wounded in a separate roadside bombing. A bomb wounded two civilians. Seven militants were killed. A bomb wounded three soldiers. And officer and a soldier were wounded in another bombing. A policeman was shot dead. Also, bombs targeted a convoy carrying the Turkish consul general but no casualties were reported.

Two gunmen were killed as they tried to plant a bomb south of Mosul.

A farmer and a truck driver were killed in separate attacks near Baquba.

A roadside bomb in Farisiya killed one soldier and wounded two more.

A roadside bomb killed one policeman and wounded another in Imam Weis.

In Basra, a goldsmith was shot dead.

In Baghdad, gunmen shot up a joint checkpoint in Doura, where they wounded five security members. A roadside bomb in Ghazaliya wounded five policemen.

Four civilians were wounded in a blast in Shirqat.

In Baiji, two policemen were kidnapped.
