At least 18 Iraqis were killed and 34 more were wounded in the latest violence. One U.S. soldier died from non-combat-related causes this morning. Also, Iran resumed shelling suspected Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK) rebel locations northeast of Arbil.
In Baghdad, three dumped bodies were discovered. Six people were injured when a roadside bomb was detonated on Palestine Street. Also, mortars fell on Muthanna Airport, but no casualties were reported.
Two doctors and their assistant were released after a ransom was paid. They had been kidnapped near Haditha a couple weeks ago. One kidnapper was arrested near Baiji.
In al-Katoun, the body of a five-year-old boy was discovered. He was kidnapped three days ago and bore evidence that he was hanged to death.
A roadside bomb in Khalis wounded ten Iraqi soldiers.
Nine policemen were wounded during a roadside bomb attack in Kirkuk.
In Nazaka, two farmers were injured when a roadside bomb blasted them as they harvesting wheat.
An Awakening Council (Sahwa) killed three al-Qaeda suspects in Abu Saida.
A roadside bomb blasted a joint police-army patrol in Talloul Hamrin, injuring three officers.
In Baquba, a suicide bomber accidentally blew himself up at home. Also, gunmen killed an 11-year-year old.
A Sahwa patrol captured five suspects in Hawija.
Sixteen suspects were arrested in Muthanna.
Coalition forces captured another eight suspects across Iraq. Also, four suspects were killed.
In Tuz Khormato, gunmen killed two men who were leaders of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK).
Also, four more people were reported injured in yesterday’s bombing at a police station in Mosul, and four of the wounded have died overnight.
