Sunday: 2 GIs, 83 Iraqis Killed; 91 Iraqis Wounded

At least 83 Iraqis were killed or found dead and 91 Iraqis were wounded during the latest attacks. The Iraqi Islamic Party reported that 350 people have been killed during U.S. operations in Baquba; however, that figure remains unconfirmed. Also, two GIs were killed in separate incidents.

One MND-B soldier was killed during a small arms attack in southern Baghdad. Another American soldier was killed in a combined IED small arms attack that left two Iraqi soldiers wounded.

In Baghdad, one person was killed and three were wounded during a car bombing in the Saidiya neighborhood. A car bomb killed three in Doura. A roadside bomb in the Mansour district wounded three people. Two policemen were killed and four civilians were wounded during a roadside bombing on Palestine Street. At least eight more people were reported injured after yesterday’s shelling in Doura. A suicide bomber killed one civilian and wounded four others when he detonated his cargo during an approach to a police checkpoint near al-Jadriya bridge. Two policemen were killed and five other injured during a roadside bomb blast in Zayouna. Three policemen were killed and 8 others were wounded during a roadside bomb and small arms attack.

Six militants were killed and three people were wounded during clashes involving Coalition troops in southern Baghdad’s al-Rashad district. Three suspects were detained in Adhamiya. And, police found 14 dumped bodies today, likely victims of sectarian violence.

Twenty people were wounded during a roadside bomb attack in Diyala province.

A suicide bomber attack at a Ramadi police station left five policemen dead and 15 others injured.

At a police checkpoint in Fallujah, a suicide truck bomber killed two policemen and wounded five others. Three people were shot in a separate incident.

Twelve bodies were found in Mosul over the last two days.

Three Iraqi soldiers were killed and three more were wounded after entering a booby-trapped home in Baquba.

Two civilians were kidnapped then killed in al-Wajihiyah.

Shelling in Yusufiya killed a woman and wounded two others.

Two blindfolded and bound bodies were found in Latifiya.

Three bodies were pulled from the Malih River near Numaniya. They had been shot and tortured.

The body of a police colonel who had been kidnapped yesterday in Basra was found bearing gunshot and torture wounds. Meanwhile, an officer from the joint coordination center was kidnapped.

One Iraqi soldier was killed during a drive-by shooting in Hawija. A gunman was killed while trying to plant a roadside bomb.

Gunmen raided the home of a lawyer in Kirkuk, then killed him. Also, four people were killed and three were injured during an armed attack on the Baghdad-Kirkuk highway.

The Iraqi army reported killing eight suspects in various locations in Iraq.

The deputy mayor of Yathrib was kidnapped.

Two bodies were found, and a truck driver was kidnapped near Khalis.

Coalition forces detained 14 suspects in Ninevah and Anbar provinces.
