During August, at least 122 people were killed, and 110 were wounded. Eight bodies were recovered from a mass grave.
At least 27 civilians, 35 security personnel, and 21 militants were killed in the violence. The wounded consisted of 37 civilians, 58 security personnel, and four militants.
In the conflict between Turkey and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (P.K.K.), at least 36 people were killed and eight more were wounded. Among them, 10 Turkish soldiers were killed, and two more were wounded. The P.K.K. and affiliated groups lost 18 members. There were also collateral casualties that included civilians and militia security personnel not involved in the conflict. Among them were eight dead and six wounded. These figures only include casualties that occurring in Iraqi territory.
Also, three prisoners were executed on terrorism charges. Three protesters were wounded. And, eight bodies were recovered from the rubble in Mosul.
