Heavy Airstrikes on Sinjar; 129 Killed across Iraq

The head of the Khalidiya district council, Ali Daoud, said that about 500 people have been arrested and put into secret prisons since the militants took over Ramadi.

At least 129 were killed and 46 were wounded in recent attacks and battles:

In Mosul, Coalition airstrikes killed five people, including a child, and wounded four more.

Three militiamen were killed and four were wounded when mortars landed in Salam.

In Baghdad, a bomb on a bus killed two people and wounded six more. A policeman was killed when a bomb placed in his car exploded.

One policeman was killed and five more were wounded when a bomb exploded in Taji.

In Sinjar, a lieutenant colonel was shot dead. Heavy militant casualties are expected after two days of Coalition airstrikes.

A bomb in Harden wounded at least 16 Peshmerga.

At least 25 militants were killed during an attack on Saniya.

In Baaj, 25 militants were killed in an airstrike.

Twenty militants were killed in Qayara.

An airstrike on Dibis killed 18 militants and wounded 11 more.

Security forces killed 17 militants in Thar Thar.

Battles in Jeraishi left five militants dead including an emir.

Four militants were killed in a strike on Salamiah.

Two militants were killed in Nuaimiya.
