79 Killed across Iraq as ISIS Blows Up 700-year-old Tomb

Islamic State militants destroyed a 13th century tomb near Hawija. At least 79 were killed and 64 were wounded in other violence.

In Madaen, a bomb killed three people and wounded eight more near shops. Two Sunni fighters were killed and five were wounded by an explosion at their checkpoint.

In Baghdad, a bomb killed three people. Two dumped bodies were found.

Militants executed an imam in Mosul.

An airstrike in al-Lain left 17 militants dead.

Fifteen militants were killed and 25 were wounded during operations near Falluja.

Airstrikes near Hawija left 15 militants dead and 26 wounded.

In Qayara, an airstrike killed 11 militant leaders.

Security forces killed six militants in Saniya.

Three militants were killed at the Ajil oil field.

A suicide bomber only killed himself in Nukhaib.
