Heavy Casualties in Falluja; 122 Killed, 80 Wounded Across Iraq

Heavy casualties were reported in Falluja today, where shelling, air strikes or artillery fire killed dozens of militants and civilians. Over a dozen militants were also killed in Baghdad.

Anbar:

Iraqi forces bombed a militant shelter in the Falluja area and killed 47 of them. Nineteen people were killed by shells striking in the city, while 36 more were wounded. Mortars struck a municipal building and killed four more people and wounded 14 others.

Six militants were killed in Garma.

A suicide bomber on a bridge near Ramadi killed two policemen and wounded two more.

Elsewhere:

In Baghdad, 17 militants were killed. Gunmen wounded a police chief in Bab al-Sham. A sticky bomb killed a civilian.

Five security members were shot dead in Baaj.

In Iskandariya, gunmen killed a Sahwa member, his wife, and two sons.

Gunmen killed four vacationing soldiers near Baiji.

In Mosul, a policeman was shot dead. A detainee died during an interrogation. Gunmen killed a tax office employee. Gunmen wounded a captain and four border guards.

A bomb at a market in Sadr City killed one person and wounded six more.

In Tikrit, a bomb killed a policeman and wounded four more. A policeman was kidnapped and then killed.

A triple bombing in Samarra killed two policemen and wounded three more.

Two soldiers were shot dead at their Hawija checkpoint.

A bomb in Bani Saad killed one person and wounded four more.

A roadside bomb killed one civilian and wounded three more in Tuz.

Three people were wounded in a blast in Baquba.
