At least 82 people were killed and 176 were wounded across Iraq today. Most of the casualties were civilians. A series of bombings once again took place in Baghdad province, but there were significant blasts in nearby cities as well.
In Anbar province:
In Falluja, shelling left four civilians dead and 12 more wounded, including children. An earlier shelling attack killed one person and wounded 12 more.
Snipers killed two soldiers in Garma.
A sniper killed an officer in Khalidiya.
Clashes continued in Ramadi.
In Baghdad province:
In Baghdad, two female bodies were found. Gunmen killed a civilian in Yusufiya. Gunmen also killed eight policemen in Doura. In Adhamiya, two soldiers were killed and a third was wounded in a shooting. One person was killed and three more were wounded in a Qahira shooting.
Several bombings took place as well. Seven people were killed and 17 more were wounded in Amil when a bomb exploded at a market. A bomb at a Karrada Mariam restaurant killed two people and wounded 11 others. A bomb killed three people and wounded 13 more and destroyed several cars in Nahda. In Jisr Diyala, a bomb left two dead and seven wounded.
A bomb at a Sadr City restaurant killed five people and wounded 25 more.
A roadside bomb killed two soldiers and wounded two more in Tarmiya.
Five people were killed and 14 others were wounded in a blast in Meshada.
Elsewhere:
Two car bombs in Hilla killed nine people and wounded 28 more.
In Iskandariya, a bomb killed four and wounded 10 others at a casino.
Five people were killed and 12 more were wounded in a blast and a billiards parlor in Kanaan.
Six bodies were discovered in Abu Khasib, Basra province.
A former mayor was shot and killed in Basra.
In Kirkuk, a bomb killed a woman and injured her son. A sticky bomb killed a soldier.
In Mosul, gunmen killed a policeman. Two policemen were wounded in a blast. A bomb killed one policeman and wounded another. Gunmen killed a security member. A bomb targeting an official wounded his bodyguard.
Gunmen in Baiji killed one Sahwa member and wounded four more.
Gunmen in Baquba killed a policeman.
A bomb killed a civilian in Buhriz.
A sticky bomb killed an officer in Shirqat.
Three men were killed as they prepared a car bomb in Riyadh.
