Thursday: 4 Iraqis Killed, 13 Wounded

At least four Iraqis were killed in new attacks, while 13 more were wounded. A Spanish judge will look into the actions of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and three army officers, including the head of the army, in connection with a deadly raid on Camp Ashraf in 2009. Spain claims "universal jurisdiction" in cases of human rights abuses regardless of where the crimes may have taken place.

In Mosul, gunmen killed two sisters and wounded a shopkeeper.

Six people were wounded, including two policemen, when a bomb targeting police exploded in Saidiya.

A bomb left in an Abbara orchard wounded a farmer and his son.

In Abu Ghraib, gunmen killed a Sahwa member at his home.

Two policemen were wounded, along with two gunmen, when police raided a safe house in Hajaj. Twelve suspects, including the two wounded gunmen, were arrested.

Gunmen killed a man in Kirkuk.

Also, 13 Turkish soldiers and 7 Kurdish rebels were killed during a clash in Turkey’s Diyarbakir province. Separately, 13 PKK rebels surrendered. Also, rebels allegedly kidnapped two workers in Tunceli province. Kurdish rebels use bases in northern Iraq from which to launch attacks on Turkey.
