At least five Iraqis were killed and 23 more were wounded in the latest violence. Also, an official at the Human Rights Ministry said that over 14,000 Iraqis have gone missing since 2003.
Army forces surrounded al-Ahrar Square in Mosul this morning to prevent demonstrators from reaching it. Clashes broke out, wounding ten people. Security forces claim that they didn’t cause any injuries, but hospital sources reported some baton injuries among the wounded.
Clashes between Kurdish Asayesh and army officers left two dead and four wounded and also a civilian who was killed just prior to firefight.
A bomb killed an army major in Baquba. Another blast killed the driver of a minibus.
In Baghdad, a blast targeting a presidential vehicle in Jadriya wounded two people. In Kasra, a blast wounded six people, including soldiers.
A bomb in Hawija wounded a policeman. Three Turks and an Iraqi were liberated. The Turks were kidnapped in February and said they were tortured.
Seven suspects were captured in Kirkuk.
