Saturday: 13 Iraqis Killed, 28 Wounded

As anti-war activists in the United States publicly mark the eighth anniversary of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, Iraqi demonstrators continue to protest against Bahrain‘s crackdown. Meanwhile, at least 13 Iraqis were killed and 28 more were wounded in the latest attacks.

In Baghdad, a bomb left three soldiers dead and nine others wounded, including three civilians, in Adhamiya. Later, another blast in Adhamiya wounded five more soldiers. Five soldiers were wounded in a blast near Shabb Stadium. A bomb in Karrada wounded three people.

Gunmen killed a policeman in Muqdadiya, while a U.S.-Iraqi operation netted three suspects. Elsewhere in Diyala province, a second policeman was wounded in another shooting.

A bomb in Mussayab killed one person and wounded two others. Yesterday, gunmen killed two brothers who were members of the Awakening Council (Sahwa).

In Hamrim, a policeman killed two colleagues before killing himself.

In Mosul, gunmen killed a construction worker and wounded his wife.

Gunmen killed a Sahwa member in Hilla.

A lawyer was shot dead in Kirkuk yesterday.

In Mahmoudiya, two civilians were injured in an explosion.

Five Turkish contractors were kidnapped in Shirqat.

Demonstrations in Basra appear to be growing in size.

Three suspects were arrested in Falluja.

Turkish planes bombarded PKK targets in northern Iraq.
