Wednesday: 24 Iraqis, 7 Iranians Wounded

At least 24 Iraqis were wounded in the latest violence. No deaths were reported today, but one attack also left seven Iranians injured. Meanwhile, a Dutchman of Iraqi decent, who was found guilty of planning attacks against U.S. soldiers, had his jail sentence cut short in the Netherlands.

A bomb targeting a bus in Muqdadiya wounded seven Iranian pilgrim and four Iraqi guards.

In Baghdad, four near-simultaneous bombs wounded nine people in Yarmouk. Four people were wounded in a bombing next to a telephone exchange. A blast in Wathiq Square wounded five policemen. A bomb near the passport agency left no casualties.

In Mosul, gunmen wounded a soldier. A suspected armed groups financier was arrested.

Gunmen wounded a civilian in Kirkuk, while a rocket targeting a U.S. base left no casualties.

In Amiriya, the head of Anbar province’s security council survived an attack that left no casualties.

Seven I.E.D.’s were discovered and defused in Missan province.

A bomb attack that could be linked to the Party of a Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK) killed 18 Revolutionary Guards in western Iran. Fourteen others were wounded.
