Friday: 7 Iraqis Killed, 9 Wounded

At least seven Iraqis were killed and nine more were wounded in prayer day attacks. Prime Minister Barham Salih, of Iraq’s autonomous Kurdish region, said the government has talked with Iran about ending shelling in the region. Also, a fire ignited by an electrical short killed 28 people, including many foreigners, in Suleimaniyah.

In Baghdad, a bomb blast in the Jihad neighborhood wounded two people. Gunmen wounded an army officer in Kadhimiya. A bomb in Khelani Square wounded four people. Two unidentified bodies were found.

Three people were killed and two more were wounded when a roadside bomb exploded in Abu Ghraib.

Gunmen in Fallujah killed a civilian.

In Abbara, gunmen killed a teacher who used to be a Sahwa member.

No casualties were reported after Asayesh forces discovered a car bomb in Kirkuk.

A landmine blamed on the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) killed a Turkish soldier in eastern Turkey.
