At least 29 Iraqis were killed or found dead and another 36 were wounded during the latest attacks. Rocket fire targeted the Green Zone and Baghdad International Airport. No Coalition deaths were reported.
A roadside bomb in Mosul left three dead and four wounded in the al-Iqtesadiyn quarter. Gunmen killed a civilian in the Majmouaa neighborhood. Also, three gunmen were arrested.
In Baghdad, five dumped bodies were found. Iraqi forces raided the dental university and arrested two professors and two policemen. Sixteen Katyusha rockets landed near the International Airport, killing five Iraqis and wounding 14 more; two American soldiers were also wounded. Rockets also fell near the Green Zone, but no casualties were reported. An Iraqi soldier was wounded during an attack in Zayouna. Also, two gunmen were killed when their truck blew up as they attempted to cross a Sons of Iraq checkpoint in Adhamiya on Saturday.
A police officer was killed and three others were wounded during an IED attack in Tikrit. A sniper wounded an American soldier.
In Basra, a police officer survived an assassination attempt uninjured, but three guards were wounded. Also, two hostages were freed in separate incidents.
One man was killed and another was wounded during a drive-by shooting in Iskandariya.
In al-Jallam, the Awakening Council killed a suspect during a raid.
A storeowner and a customer were killed during an explosion in a store in Hit. The owner’s son was wounded.
In Babel, a provincial vice chairmen was attacked by court police and suffered injuries. The guard’s were detained.
Two bodies were found in Ramadi.
A car bomb wounded three Awakening Council members in Buhriz.
U.S. forces killed three suspects and detained five others during operations in northern and central Iraq.
An Islamic State in Iraq leader was arrested in Riyadh.
The gunmen were captured in Baquba.
Five suspects were detained in Mahaweel.
In Diwaniya, police found a cache containing 550 bombs.
Also, an arrest warrant was issued for the governor of Karbala.
In Fallujah, a curfew was imposed as security forces searched for gunmen.
Two bodyguards were wounded during an attack at a Sheikh’s house in Mandili.
A roadside bomb in Shams caused no casualties.
Three Awakening Council members were killed and three more were wounded in Khan Bani Saad during an armed attack on their base.
