3.2 Million Displaced Iraqis; 55 Killed in Battles, Attacks

 

The U.N. International Organization for Migration says that 3.2 million Iraqis have been displaced due to conflict since the beginning of 2014. Over 40 percent of those refugees are from Anbar province.

At least 55 were killed in fresh violence, and 15 more were wounded:

In Tarmiya, four civilians were killed and 12 were wounded in a blast. Gunmen killed a soldier and wounded three others.

Three civilians were killed and nine were wounded in a bombing in Yusufiya.

In Hit, airstrikes killed 35 militants.

Ten militants were killed in Saniya.

At least five militants were killed at the Baiji refinery. More were killed in the city itself.

Airstrikes on Sinjar left many militants dead or wounded.

An imam was kidnapped near Baquba.
