Militants Execute Their Own; 206 Killed across Iraq

The people of Haditha are running low on necessities and could be the Islamic State militants’ next target. But if the town should fall, with it might go a critical dam.

At least 206 were killed and 94 were wounded in the latest violence:

In Baghdad, a blast killed 16 and wounded 48 in the New Baghdad district. Three people were killed and 12 were wounded in a bombing in Za’afaraniya.

Eight people were killed and 16 were wounded when a bomb exploded near the Iranian border in Mandali.

Mortars in Falluja left nine dead and 12 wounded, including children.

A suicide bomber killed six security personnel in Tarmiya. At least six more were wounded.

In Mosul, militants executed four tailors for refusing to sew clothing. Another 11 are under arrest. An imam was also executed. An airstrike killed five militant leaders.

In Anbar, 67 militants were killed.

Militants executed 40 of their own in Tal Afar for desertion, but it may have actually been over a power struggle.

About 33 militants were killed in a training incident in Baaj.

Ten militants were killed in Saqlawiya.

In Muqdadiya, three militants were killed.
